Rapping Robots

The robot was there and it was so creative. It was playing cards and was gonna  play a spade and it, went to the store to buy a sparkly cream soda to give to it's master whose name so was not Yoda.

Oh No

The hyper-space-jump-engine died. They could all tell quite easily.

They were 40 light years from any known developed system, and they weren't exactly sure what they were going to do.

The Galaxy Clerk

He sat in his window office, on the 500th floor of the Galactic Capital Building. The census was complete. He reviewed the numbers. The final count for the census equated to 700,655,654,557,245 citizens.

The Clones

His clone duplicate stepped out of the contraption. It was more like fell out of the contraption. It vomited all over the floor and was slimy and naked and writhing, almost like it was having a seizure and was writhing in its own vomit. It was quite a gross sight to behold.

It stopped moving and the assistants drug it over to the shower area, stepped back and turned the showers on. After a minute or so, after the showers stopped, they repositioned it to so the shower would clean off the rest of the new human's body. They turned the showers back on.

Then they turned on the blower. Then, they dragged and pulled the hairless body onto a gurney, gave it a shot, and started the oxygen up.

It was quite an odd sight to see. It felt quite strange. It looked just like him, but in a state that looked to be about 10 years younger. The clone opened its eyes and with a grimace on its face, slowly rasped, "What did you do to me?".

Stay In Your Own Universe

Uh-oh...

They had really made a mess of things. They were sitting there; thousands of feet up, on this little platform; water surrounded them as far as their eyes could see. They had just arrived.

They had no way of leaving as far as they could tell.

At least they had a few weeks supply of rations.

Flying On The Road

The lights in front of the shuttle were fairly vivid despite the heavy fog and rain.

500 mph the screen read... 700 mph... 1000 mph... 1700 mph...

They went back to the lounge and sprawled themselves on the cushions of the rests in the alcoves of the space vehicle. They weren't going to a different planet, just the other-side of this one. They had an appointment and they were already behind the schedule that they wanted to be on. They still had ample time to reach their destination, they just wouldn't quite be there as soon as they had previously expected and hoped for.

A couple of hours passed and they soon realized that they were almost to where they would be landing.

A couple more minutes passed and they felt the vehicle making contact with the landing area.

They stepped of the plane, and they both yawned and stretched out a bit as they stepped out into the bright sun. It's not the middle of the night anymore.

Oh well.

They were there, and the meeting would begin shortly.

Running

He stopped running.

He arrived at the vehicle. He was huffing and puffing; catching his breath. There was still the quiet tick of insects in the field. Some of the glowing insects were starting to enter the area.

The door to the ship sounded as he approached it and he quickly phased through it. It sounded again as he walked briskly to the flight controls area. He sat down in the comfy seat and started hitting some of the various settings on the screen that would land him at his next destination.

Quickly enough, the vehicle took off. He is now on his way.

Meanwhile In Sector 5 of Glaxy 9

He woke up. He had been sleeping for 40 years. Why? He felt like it.

He yawned deeply. He wondered what had transpired. Probably not too much of any consequence had if figured.

He stepped out onto the balcony of his abode. He looked over the lush valley below. It's pretty amazing that you can see the curvature of the planet from this place he thought to himself. The stars shown brightly. The mountains had snow on their peaks.

The room was a comfortable temperature. He saw the incoming vehicle coming from what he thought was the Sector 7 star system.

He knew what was arriving. He was glad. He thought it was silly that it had to take this long.

Oh well... he thought...

They Smiled

The year is 7,777,777,777. Much has transpired.

They were sitting in the room together on the planet Zetstis, in Sector 5 of Galaxy 5.

She smiled at her daughter. It was time for her relatively young one to be sent off. They were both glad in certain respects. They both knew this would not be the last time they would see each other, not even close to the last time.
